Why did Christ send the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts?

The work of the Holy Spirit is to keep us from sinning. God forgives us when we turn from our sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Now He wants to keep us from sinning again and again.

The Lord Jesus saved us from the punishment of sin, and He does not want sin to rule over us, Romans 6:14.

This is very important.

I knew that I was a sinner and had rebelled against God. I knew also that my sins would put me in hell forever and ever. So I repented of my sins and asked God to forgive me. He did forgive me because the Lord Jesus Christ bore the punishment for my sins. I am very happy now, but when I sin again, my joy will turn to sorrow.

God does not want us to sin at all. He gave us His Holy Spirit so that the Spirit would help us to overcome temptations every day. Why not accept this wonderful salvation now?

Prayer of Salvation

Have you ever made Jesus the Lord and Saviour of your life? If not, pray this prayer and start a new life in Christ today.

Say this prayer and mean it;

Dear God in heaven,

I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with you, and I want to be right with you. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins, and come into my heart and change me. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Saviour of my life. Thank you for saving me and filling me with the Holy Spirit! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer for the first time, I would also like to know. Click here to send me an email and share your testimony with me.
