Where is your faith? Luke 8:25

When Jesus saw his disciples lacked faith and that sometimes they had zero or little signs of it he called them together and “gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” Luke 9:1.

Sometimes it’s not faith you need to cast out devils, you need power and authority or virtue!

Faith gives you access; it’s that you choose to do because you believe God. Each human being has that measure, that instinct and ability both to will and to do of his good pleasure. It’s however not enough to have faith, James 2:17 says, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Verse 14 says, “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?”

Faith has to be kept busy

Heb 2:1-8; 4:1-3,7
– you should not let the promise and faith slip off your hands. Vs1
– neither should you neglect it, it’s your salvation. Vs 3
– the world is put to your subjection under you. Vs5,8
– you’re above.vs7

Read your Bible if you want to profit from this faith;
– Mix what you hear with faith.

The activity/faith around you should be for an atmosphere of miracles!

You hear Jesus went throughout preaching, and teaching in their synagogues, being glorified of all. Luke 4:15
– eyes were fastened on him, vs 20
– people were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power, vs 32
– they were all amazed saying, What a word is this! Vs36
– pple pressed upon him to hear the word, 5:1
– nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net, 5:5
– the man with leprosy besoughted him, if thou wilt, thou can make me clean, 5:12

All this is proof that his faith wasn’t allowed to rest! Faith fails when it’s left hibernating.

Jesus said Peter, “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:32.

James said;
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:21-22

Act on what you hear! How? Be diligent; add to your faith virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, etc. Faith does survive when you’ve power and authority or virtue! You lack that it means you are blind, you faith cannot see afar off.

Let me leave you with a scripture 2 Peter 1:1-11;
[1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: [2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. [10] Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: [11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Bible verse of the day

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
