“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.” Proverbs 25:2
As a believer you need the word of God because without it you’re in darkness. It is his word that answers all your questions and provide knowledge, and if you don’t have it, you have two choices;
- to search until you find it or
- to act or go without it.
I’ll show you how many of us have chosen the latter one.
Truth comes in so many ways and forms, and from many sources. We see how by many it has been used to make decisions and solve problems, and pretenders also and deceivers using that same truth to exploit others. But now, I wish you could use it to find God instead.
Anyway listen to this;
“Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord ; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the Lord . How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it ; the pen of the scribes is in vain. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord ; and what wisdom is in them?” Jeremiah 8:4-9
Ask yourself, what wisdom is in me?
I hear some believers say, we are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us, but the question is, is it really? Lo, certainly in vain I made it, saith the Lord. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Did they really forget? No, they turned to another gospel that’s cheap. You know what? The rise of our 21st century prophets made the gospel cheap. They came and trodden down on theology proper, sound doctrine and with itching ears they “turned unto fables” (2 Tim 4:4). Above the prophet asked, how is it they fall, and not arise? Because they don’t seek her (truth) as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures.
Proverbs 23:23 says, “Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.” You’ve got also have to spend.
“My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord , and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.) Proverbs 2:1-6
Why am l writing to you like this? I am doing it so that you may understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. Apostle John said, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:4).
