“They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” Matthew 25:3-4
Above is a situation affecting every believer even today. Mind you, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man…” 1 Corinthians 10:13
Why are some believers proactive and others not? It’s who they’re; some are gold vessels, silver, hay or stone. You will react differently to situations according to the vessel you identify with, whether actively, passively or not at all.
Sometime back we had a problem in church, and some didn’t see it as a problem, they didn’t even recognise it. So because it didn’t register, they did nothing about it. Those who recognized the problem reacted and did something about it because they connected themselves personally with the situation. I don’t know if you’re able to know when you’ve run out of oil. You got to be able to connect with problem and then do something about it. Caught up in the same problem the prodigal son was able to come to himself, “he said….I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee.” Luke 15:17-18
What should you do?
Arise, and go back to being the right vessel of honour that is fit for the master’s use. It won’t help to dangle from the periphery, worse when there is an issue of concern in your life, trying to cover up won’t help you either because that will not change the status quo and what people know, believe or think of you. Instead be wise, and take oil with you.
Good day saints!
