Understanding righteousness, and judgment, and equity!

Understanding righteousness, and judgment, and equity!

“Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?” 1 Corinthians 6:1-3

Saints

Don’t under estimate the power of saints. Every Christian believer is acknowledged as holy, kind and patient, above all we are a people of exalted virtue.

When you are washed, sanctified or justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God; you are transformed and set apart into becoming saints of the most High.

I like Proverbs 2:5-11

“Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. [6] For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. [7] He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. [8] He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. [9] Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea , every good path. [10] When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; [11] Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:”

Isn’t that beautiful?

I said above when you received Christ you were set apart onto becoming saints.
Being saints isn’t only leading a ridiculous boring life of religiosity, going over the same old things again and again. But the moment you’re born again you’re set on to a journey to discovering the divine nature of God. “Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

Hebrews 6:1 says, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God…”

When Christ entered your life, so did also wisdom, and your whole life was transformed. You become mature day by day in your understanding; wisdom and truth also enters the very centre of your being; “Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee.”

Two things which are important we noticed in Proverbs ;

  1. “…He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints….”
  2. “…Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.”

Last but not least, “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee, ” as strong Christians ought to be.
Now back to 1 Corinthians 6, in verse 2 Paul asks, “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Now, I don’t know why Believers think they’re unworthy to judge, even to decide on problems which they face. When they’ve arguments between themselves they are quick to sue each other. I hear the Lord say in Matthew 18:18-20″ “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. [19] Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. [20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
And Paul says in Colossians 2:18-19, “Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility…vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

God wants us to increase in the fear of him! As we also saw in Proverbs that, “Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea , every good path. [10] When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; [11] Discretion shall preserve thee.

Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” 1 Peter 2:17

1 Corinthians 6:5 says, “I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Paul says, “…I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.” 1 Cor 7:25

We’ve such a great cloud of witness; so many wise man among us “who speak, as the oracles of God…as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:11
