“You know that with all my strength I have served your father and that he has cheated me and changed my wages ten times. But God has not let him harm me.” Genesis 31:6-7
Laban was such a big time waster, he knew how to cause another person to waste time doing things which would not achieve any good result for him.
“But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.” 1 Peter 4:15
May the Lord deliver you from people like and such activities as would take a lot of your time that you would not achieve anything important for your life. Also know how to redeem your own time, we ain’t here long. Do you know there are churches also like that, good at robbing believers of their precious time? If you don’t know, some churches are a biggest time waster, first or second from television and social media. Jude 1:12 – 14 says, “These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.”
But Peter said, let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Do you know some of our sufferings are avoidable? For instance, addiction, anger, confusion, depression, discouragement, guilt, hate, loneliness, low self esteem, regret, stress and unforgiveness, these can be avoided when we stop stealing other people’s time.
1 Peter 4:1-4 says, “Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; [and this is the bit I like most, listen] That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you.”
What do time wasters do? They make you spend the rest of your life chasing after wrong desires, evil things the godless enjoy – sex sin, lust, getting drunk, wild parties, drinking bouts, and the worship of idols, and other terrible sins such as vainglory. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters.
I will leave you with the words of the prophet;
“And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart; And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain. For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people. Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.” 1 Samuel 12:20-24
I hope you enjoy hearing the truth; turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.
