“For ever, O Lord , thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89
In the verse you see three things concerning the Word of God; its stability, durability and validity.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! He is exactly the same today and as he was before.
His Word is exactly the same as himself. The word is not only living but it remaineth, it abideth forever.
The stability of the Word
The word “settled” speaks of stability, it is firm as rock. Nothing of the word is human, everything in it is from the throne of God.
The validity of the word;
– “…it shall not return unto me void…” or empty but shall continue to increase and be effectual.
One thing you got to understand about the word of God is it does not frustrate.
– None can reverse what God says.
With it you can run through a troop!
Psalm 18:28-31 says, “For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. For who is God save the Lord ? or who is a rock save our God?”
