The Revelation of Jesus Christ – Part 1

The Revelation of Jesus Christ – Part 1

It was all revealed to John, what shall soon come to pass. God sent an angel to him, to tell him all this and he wrote that time is running very short. Something big is about to happen; Jesus is going to return to Earth for a second time.

He appeared to John as the great judge.

“Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” Revelation 1:19-20 KJV

The Seven Golden Candlesticks

“…I saw seven golden candlesticks…” (Revelations 1:12).

Verse 20 says, “The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

The Son of Man

“And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.” Revelation 1:13

“…in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man…” (Revelations 1:13).

Stood in the midst of the seven candlesticks, (amidst the church).

  • wearing a long robe Job 29:14 says, “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.”
  • circled with a golden band across his chest

His head – his hair was white as wool or snow

“…his head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow…” (Revelations 1:14). Wool and flax is given to cover your nakedness.

  • We see him as the Ancient of Days, full of wisdom and perfect beauty.

His eyes – penetrated like a flame of fire

“…his eyes were as a flame of fire…” (Revelations 1:14). None and nothing whatsoever is going to be hidden from him.

Amos 9:8 says, “Behold, the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.”

His feet – gleamed like burnished bronze/brass

“…his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace…” (Revelations 1:15).

1 Peter 4:5 says, “Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.”

His voice – thundered

“…his voice as the sound of many waters…” (Revelations 1:15).

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16

In his right hand – he held seven stars

“…he had in his right hand seven stars…” (Revelations 1:16). To reward everyone according to the due reward of our deeds.

In his mouth – a sharp, double-bladed sword

“…out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword…” (Revelations 1:16). Judgement is his, the greatest judge!

“…who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.” 1 Peter 1:17

His face – shone like the power of the sun

“…his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength…” (Revelations 1:16).

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” Revelation 1:7

Another important notion, again and again Christ refers to himself as the beginning and the ending or the alpha and the omega. It is emphasizing that Christ exists outside of time, as we should now know.
