The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken

These days it is common to hear that the Lord has spoken, but would he have spoken? When God speaks, or reveals Himself, He leaves no doubt. Where he speaks, he’ll command superiority and sacredness.

“The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.” Psalm 50:1

He has spoken to two groups of people; to the church and unbelievers alike;

1. To the church

For this group He said, “Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.” Psalm 50:5

First, what he wants you to know is, he is God, judge and leader of his people. You’re His people, his saints or covenant people.

When the bible says he’s judge; people make wrong assumptions and think God serves only to condemn them but listen to this, “I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me” (Psalm 50:8). I like how Paul puts it, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

God himself actually saidI will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices, and he continued to say,

“Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Psalm 50:14-15

  • Offer unto God thanksgiving
  • Pay thy vows unto the most High
  • Glorify him

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me

Here you can rightly quote this scripture, “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.” 1 John 5:9

2. To unbelievers, the wicked

This is the second group, for the evil workers.

“But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?” Psalm 50:16

The wicked are they who refused instruction, those who have ignored his word. “Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:22

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence.

God bless,

Laurence

Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
