The fruit of your mouth

“He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.” Proverbs 13:3

The fruit of your mouth is either life or death, good or bad, elevation or destruction, peace or violence, blessing or cursing. Proverbs 13:2 says, “A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.”

It is possible to turn your mouth into an ornament of grace, and your tongue especially if you keep it from lying, hypocrisy and deception. It is a tree of life, and light and lamp that will see you through in this journey.

I will leave you with these verses, meditate on them and remember them in any speaking situation;

“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.” Proverbs 13:15-16

Have you also seen this; “…a fool layeth open his folly…” Anyway, I shan’t dwell on the negative. But see how keeping your mouth can do you good – so many great rewards great rewards is attached to it. Just think of motivational speakers, and preachers too; how for thinking before they open their mouths they’re a blessing and many make a living out of the same.

Keep your mouth with all diligence, and your heart, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:15

God bless,
