Why reason ye, because ye have no bread?

“And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.” Mark 8:16

Many times we reason to ourselves because of the things we’ve need of, don’t we not? Don’t worry the disciples also “reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread” (Mark 8:16). But tell you what? Jesus has compassion on you because he knows you’ve come a long way with him. No way he can send you away without feeding you, lest you faint on the way.

“And when Jesus knew it , he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened? Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?” Mark 8:17-18

Why reason ye, because ye have no bread?

Here is how you can manage anxiety; what Jesus is instructing us above is see, hear, perceive, believe, understand and remember. 2 Timothy 3:14 says, “But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.

What does the bible teach about worry and anxiety?

It clearly teaches us not to worry. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). Jesus encourages us to avoid worrying about our physical needs like clothing and food. He assures us that our heavenly Father will take care of all our needs (Matthew 6:25-34). Therefore, we have no need to worry about anything. We should bring all of our needs and concerns to God in prayer rather than worry about them.

How does one overcome worry? The instruction is to “cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). We saw about Jesus troubled because the disciples tried to carry around the weight of their problems and burdens. But God is telling us now to give Him all of our worries and concerns because he cares so much for us.

Of course, for those who do not know the Savior, worry and anxiety will be part of life. But to those who have given their lives to Him, Jesus promised, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

What ministry do you help in your church?

Bible verse of the day

He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
