“Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.” Isaiah 30:8-11
According to the scripture above the job description of “seers” is to see, and that of “Prophets” is to prophesy.
Prophets before were best known as seers, (Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)” 1 Samuel 9:9
A seer is a person of supposed supernatural insight who sees visions of the future, or simply speaking is an expert or a person who sees something specified, or who provides forecasts of the economic or political future. That’s the reason kings had private seers.
Anyone can be a seer, even a prophet can have that ability to see too just as everyone can desire to prophesy. “Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.” 1 Corinthians 14:1
To a seer, the personal decisions an individual makes do not exist in a vacuum. Some forces put pressure on people to select one choice over another, and a seer using the word of God tries to identify these general patterns by examining the behaviour of people experiencing the same pressures whether it’s poverty, sickness or spiritual attack. Two forces are in control, that of God and of the devil, light and darkness but will depend on where you yield most.
How do I know? It is written!
The problem these days is not people, who may say, “seer see not or prophet prophesy not” because people’s hearts are turned to God. Please don’t be such say, “Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits.” However what I want to say is the problem are the prophets themselves who make you think that what they ‘see or prophesy’ isn’t in the book but is a special annointing from somewhere. There’s no such thing because the true Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost is such as written – Believe not every spirit. Anyway God actually gave the command “Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever…”
Why did he have to write it?
That his will may survive over time. People ask me how the word was able to be held together in bible age? It is because people performed similar tasks as was written and shared values as was instructed, and used the same language, and same object of worship. They exchanged even goods and services in similar ways. Not what you see these days that when a pastor starts church, he changes everything important to the faith.
Good nyt folks
