How long will ye turn my glory into shame?

Understanding Spiritual Warfare – Psalm 4

Glory is something to do with your self image; i.e., your personality, your achievements, your independence, your relationships and everything! It’s all to do with what you take great pride in, and your reason of being. But there is always something or someone somewhere bent on turning that glory into shame. “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” (John 10:10). Satan is a thief.

David said, “…O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress…” “Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.” (Psalm 3:1-2). So many are against me! They say you’ll never help me, really? He realised something; people, the devil rather like playing chase, they seek after leasing!

“But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.” Psalm 4:3-4

Put your trust in the Lord, do not despair! It shouldn’t matter they speak all with one voice as if they’re the oracles of God – prove them wrong, do not despair! Enough of all those deceptions! Know for yourself that the Lord will also hear when you call to him.

David says, “Thou hast put gladness in my heart, [as before] more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:7-8

Only The Lord, makes you dwell in safety; He is your shield, your glory, and your only hope. He alone can lift up you head, “now bowed in shame.” (Psalm 3:3). It’s time.

Today, I pray the Lord will give you back your glory, in Jesus name!

Here is how David prayed; “Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness….have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.” Psalm 4:1

  •  “O God of my righteousness,” meaning it’s a personal matter my friend.

Bible verse of the day

Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
