In this will I be confident.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1

What are the benefits of knowing God?

Normally, you should be able to make it because you’re created in the image of God. However, in a world we feel insufficient or inadequate of ourselves in our own nature, spirit body or soul; because light and darkness coexist, and because the natural live alongside with the supernatural, knowing God can provide additional strength to you who believe. Knowing God puts you at an advantage among many of your peers, in the spiritual realm it leaves you at a much better and advantageous position ‘with God’ than you being alone. At this day and age, you can’t afford to be complacent or be spirit free – the question then is whose? For “…ye are not your own…” 1 Corinthians 6:19

“Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust…” (Psalm 40:4). If the Lord is your light and your salvation; what else shall you fear, and if “the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

David said in this will I be confident;

When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.” (Psalm 27:2-3). To know God is to know righteousness, and “to know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; to give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.” (Proverbs 1:2-4). Spiritual warfare is that real, it’s not that child play.

“For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” Psalm 27:5

You should’ve such confidence in God, and one thing we do as believers is we never lean on your own understanding, no one moment do we trust in chariots and horses but we wait on Him that’s able to save our souls and be of courage – “and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” Psalm 27:14

Jesus says in John 15:1,4-7

[1] I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. [4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. [6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Now, for us to abide in Christ is for us to bear the same relation to him that branches bear to the vine. To abide in Christ is to renounce any form of independent living, we give up trying to think our thoughts, or to form our own resolutions, or cultivate our feelings but simply and constantly look to Christ – to think his thoughts in us, to form his purposes in us and to feel his emotions and affections in us. We’ve renounced all life independent of Christ and we constantly look to him, and Day in Day out we say the Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When we do so we obtain that we seek from God.

Psalm 27:13 says, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”
