Where is then the blessedness ye spake of?

“When the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Galatians 4:4-7

But, before we knew God we were slaves to so-called gods that do not even exist, we were in bondage under worldly elements, we were castaway, and some were under guardians and managers before Christ came, they were slaves to Jewish laws and rituals, for they thought that could save them. We were children, and were in bondage.

But when Christ came, he bought freedom for us who were slaves so that he could adopt us as his very own sons, hallelujah! “Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?” Galatians 4:8-9

How can it be that you want to go back again to those weak and beggarly elements; now that you have found God, now that Christ bought your freedom, now that you received the adoption, now that you’re heirs, now that you are sons, and now that God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father? “Now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?” (Galatians 4:9).

Paul asks, “Where is then the blessedness ye spake of?” (Galatians 4:15). He said, be as I am! Understand the grace of Christ.

We’re not born after the flesh folks, but after the promise. We are now children of the promise/spirit.

But what do we see?  We see a struggle, between the two covenants – he that was born after the flesh persecuting us who are born after the Spirit, so that he can take you back again to those weak and beggarly elements. Tell everyone who do so that “we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.” Galatians 4:31

You have been called unto liberty

“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.” Galatians 5:6

Walk in the Spirit

If you walk in the Spirit you’ll not be lost from God’s grace.

“For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” Galatians 5:5

  • Rely on the help of the Holy Spirit

All you need is faith

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:25-26

  • Obey the truth

Paul asks, “Who has interfered with you to hold you back from following the truth? It certainly isn’t God who has done it, for he is the one who has called you to freedom in Christ.” Galatians 5:7-8

  • don’t be carried way, walk according to truth

I am trusting the Lord to bring you back to believing as I do about these things. God will deal with that person, whoever he is, who has been troubling and confusing you.” Galatians 5:10

God bless,

Laurence

Bible verse of the day

Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
