Read Romans 11
“At this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.” Romans 11:5
This is how grace works;
“…it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Romans 9:16
The favour of God is mostly not found by those looking for it but a few ones that God himself picks out! The eyes of the others have been blinded.
“Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.” John 9:39
Romans 11:33-34 says, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?”
Who hath known the mind of the Lord?
“What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.” Romans 11:7
So this is the situation: Only those with the favor of God will obtain.
The reason many eyes are blinded is because they seek this salvation away from the scripture.
Romans 10:2-3 says, “For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”
Do you know every believer has great enthusiasm for God but sometimes that enthusiasm is misguided so many of them end up crushing their faith?
Ephesians 5:14-16 says, “Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
The downside of religion is you’ve minimal chances to turning back when you’re lost. That’s the reason many go on to establishing their own righteousness.
Paul says, “awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Christ will give you light! What that means is He gives to those who trust in him everything they need to know him better and to serve him better too.
Salvation comes from trusting God through Christ. The word of truth is what is basically need – which is already near you and in your heart that is, the word of faith, which we preach.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9
Romans 11:20 says, “Watch out! …Do not be proud; be humble and grateful-and careful.
God is both kind and severe, very hard on those who disobey, but very good to those who continue to love and trust him. If you don’t, you too will be cut off – that’s how grace works; you watch out, be humble and grateful and careful.
