Judgement of the woman upon a scarlet Beast
“I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.” Revelation 17:5
The mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carried her is revealed;
“And this woman you saw in your vision represents the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.” Revelation 17:18
- I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration, vs 6
“And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Revelation 17:5
That’s the reason it’s built;
“The kings of the world have had immoral relations with her, and the people of the earth have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality.” Revelation 17:2
The Scarlet Beast
A seat of idolatry and cruel oppressive governments, will deceive people except the remnant of the elect.
“The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.” Revelation 17:8
- His ten horns are ten kings who have not yet risen to power; they will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment, to reign with him, vs 12
- They will all sign a treaty giving their power and strength to him, vs 13
- Together they will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, vs 14
- The oceans, lakes, and rivers that the woman is sitting on represent masses of people of every race and nation, vs 15
“The scarlet animal and his ten horns-which represent ten kings who will reign with him-all hate the woman, and will attack her and leave her naked and ravaged by fire.” Revelation 17:16
The Seven heads and ten horns
The seven heads are seven mountains (kings), on which the woman sitteth, (vs 9) or presides over. It also represents seven kings, a kind like G7, NATO or The Commonwealth in today’s language (vs 10) or the way system of governments is presided over. Take note verse 13, “These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” I.e. will give their power to that cruel regime.
“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Revelation 17:10-13
- Five have already fallen, the sixth now reigns, and the seventh is yet to come, but his reign will be brief, vs 10
- The scarlet animal that died is the eighth king, having reigned before as one of the seven; after his second reign, he too, will go to his doom, vs 11
Concerning that government, some believers think it’s suited much for Rome, for through it rose so many ruthless leaders. However, looking at it, it’s possible the description is suited for the superpowers of the day; US, UK, Turkey, Russia, etc, all could be Babylon. But if that day comes out now, that woman is USA and the Beast she’s riding on none other than NATO, or UK.
The fall of Babylon
“After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” Revelation 18:1-3
“And here is the mind which hath wisdom…” (Revelation 17:9). He that has an ear to hear, let him hear!
“Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.” Revelation 18:21,24
We witness two things
- The finality of Babylon’s Fall, and
- God avenging the blood of martyrs on her!
Babylon is fallen because like Sodom and Gomorra the city had become “a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!” vs 2.
- all the nations of the earth had drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, vs 3
- the kings of the earth had committed fornication with her, and
- the merchants of the earth had also become rich through the abundance of her luxury.
Like Lot, the people of God have to walk away (separate) from her so that God will carryout the punishment on her; “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Revelation 18:4-5
“In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.” Revelation 18:7
Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her, vs 6
“Therefore her plagues will come in one day-death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.” Revelation 18:8
When her distraction comes, it will be swift – a short work! For in one hour her great riches will come to nothing. “For in one hour she is made desolate.” Revelation 18:19.
“Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” Revelation 18:20

The First Resurrection
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:6
Who will take part?
- I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus, for proclaiming the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the Creature or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They had come to life again and now they reigned with Christ for a thousand years, vs 4
- These had been given the right to judge, vs 4
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” Revelation 20:5-6
Just about the same time Satan is also bound for 1000 years but when the thousand years have expired, “Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea.” (vs 7-8).
They went up to make war with the saints but he’s defeated; “The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Revelation 20:10
The second Resurrection
The great white throne
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.” Revelation 20:11-13
- Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Revelation 20:14
- And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
All things made new
“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”” Revelation 21:1-4
It is done!
