David in Psalm 58 posed this question for Politicians; Justice and Fairness which of you has any left? Not one, Zero!
“Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear.” Psalm 58:4
Most politicians are expert charmers, their dealings are crooked, lying from their earliest words!
David says, “Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.” Psalm 58:2. The Psalmist reveals to us what most politicians have in common; they’re charmers, liars, wicked, corrupt, and if not all some are violent people.
He isn’t kind for them either in his prayer. He said, “Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O Lord. Let them melt away as waters which run continually: when he bendeth his bow to shoot his arrows, let them be as cut in pieces. As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.” Psalm 58:6-8
You don’t deserve any blessing if you’re a politician who is corrupt, an expert charmer, a lair, a crook, and are as deaf as an adder in justice and fairness.
I like what David said while concluding this Psalm, he said, “The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. So that a man shall say, Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth” (Psalm 58:10-11). Make their weapons useless in their hands, O Lord.
The ungodly will not go unpunished. But I know there are some godly politicians out there, men and women who rejoice in the triumph of righteousness; these shall be rewarded, for “verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth.”
