The Old Dispensation vs The New Dispensation
The word of God prevailed through two periods;
- When the word was spoken by angels
- When the word was spoken by the Lord
Whenever change happens so will the spiritual dynamics also.
When the word was spoken by angels
God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, and mostly by angels telling them little by little about his plans.
“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 KJV
However believers should know the mode has changed; God, “…in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.” Hebrews 1:2
When the Word was spoken by the Lord, so much of what was under the old dispensation was also torn down.
“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, [through Christ] lest at any time we should let them slip.” Hebrews 2:1
God is now speaking to us his Word by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things. This is not an angelic dispensation anymore, but we see Jesus, the Lord Jesus himself who was passed on to us by those who heard him speak – don’t drift away from his word.
“For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.” Hebrews 2:16
- What nature have you taken yourself?
Jesus asked one peculiar question, “What is written in the law? how readest thou?” (Luke 10:26). When you read the Old Testament, what nature do you yourself take? How readest thou?
Listen to what Paul says here;
Romans 8:19-25 KJV
 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they , but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit , the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it .
You’ll not be subjected to vanity by this same word the Lord has spoken himself, rather it makes you hope again.
“Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:17
Always remember you’ve a merciful and faithful high priest always before God on your behalf, in things pertaining to God.
