Have you ever wondered why Jesus said to Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men?
It makes sense when I think of some worship leaders who have no idea how God works. What make you of them if they serve on the altars of God half naked? An offence to him of of course.
Now worship leaders, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
Every worshipper should know how they contact themselves in the presence of God/ his church, and to dress. Learn to take control of your bodies; in that holy, acceptable fashion, not the fashion of the world. Present yourselves in that way God demands of you – a living sacrifice! If you can’t then don’t even come close to his altars with the abominable.
Paul suggested, “And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.” 1 Corinthians 14:35. The point here is if you don’t know how to dress then you shouldn’t lead worship, period.
If you continue, we don’t see true worshippers out of you, but agents who’ve hijacked the altars of God.
“Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.” Ezekiel 5:11
What that means is change! “…be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
True worship leaders should know how they should contact themselves – self control! Prove yourself, even before you leave home; asking yourself questions; is this holy; good and acceptable, and perfect way to lead worship? Taking questions like that is your reasonable service.
