Open the eyes of my heart Lord, I want to see you!
Our problem lies on one thing and that is to not being able to see accordingly.
I see this problem among believers also, they spent their most precious moments with God yet arguing with Him about their destiny, no use isn’t it? Solomon said, “…mere dreaming of nice things is foolish; it’s chasing the wind.” Ecclesiastes 6:9. It’s a problem, common among believers, and this is because we refuse to see things in the light of scriptures.
Jesus said, “And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.” Matthew 13:14-16
Didn’t he say I know the plans I have for you…?
See with your own eyes also that in this life, not only hereafter but while you still have your being, God wants you to lead a better life, despite the situation you’re in, you got to find contentment also. Ecclesiastes 6:9 says, “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush…”
Believers should be able to walk in this life with both their eyes and ears wide open; “Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?” Ecclesiastes 6:11.
When you read the whole chapter 6 the preacher makes us see there is a very serious evil going about everywhere, and chasing after wind, deceptions is the worst thing happening. “Wise men and fools alike spend their lives scratching for food and never seem to get enough. Both have the same problem, yet the poor man who is wise lives a far better life.” Ecclesiastes 6:7-8
Blessed is the poor in spirit; i.e. he that has eyes that see, ears that hear and a heart that understands. Revelation 3:18 says, “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”
When your eyes shall see likewise, when you have riches, wealth, honour and beauty they shall yield to you a great harvest, not an evil disease. You’ll not look at your labours and say this also is vanity and vexation of the spirit but you’ll see good. Jesus said when you “anoint thine eyes with eyesalve,” you will see that you should see.
