“Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9
Apostle Peter says in verse 3, ” Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
It’s a privilege that you’re born again, this time born again to a lively hope. So, you need not to worry because;
- you’re elected “according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit,” (1 Peter 1:2). “…born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:13
- you’re now kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time, 1 Peter 1:5
- you’re kept for “an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:4
Romans 11:22 says, “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.”
Sometimes believers need to know that their problems are much real, and so are all their hardships. It is a fact that the majority of us are in much heaviness, and have to even pass through manifold temptations. (ref. 1 Peter 1:6). But here is our joy and consolation – we’re kept by the power of God! Some ask if that’s true, how about this our misery?
Romans 2:4 says, “Don’t you realize how patient he is being with you? Or don’t you care? Can’t you see that he has been waiting all this time without punishing you, to give you time to turn from your sin? His kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.”
“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:7.
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16
Let me remind you brethren, only by Jesus we believe in God; “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” 1 Peter 1:23.
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 1 Peter 1:18-21
He’s that grace that came to us; the best thing that ever happened to us.
