Neither be afraid

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me, John 14:1

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you, John 14:18

Jesus replied, “Because I will only reveal myself to those who love me and obey me. The Father will love them too, and we will come to them and live with them.” John 14:23

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid, John 14:27

Here he is saying “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
He says in another place; “…behold I and the children which God has given me…”

– don’t you even yet know who I’m, Phillip? John 14:9
– don’t you believe? John 14:10
– “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:17
– “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same…” Hebrews 2:14
– he is able to support and assist them that are tempted, Hebrews 2:18
Hebrews 2:14 KJV
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16-17

The Holy Spirit is that other comforter; trust him in the same way you’ve put trust in the father, and in Jesus.

For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour…Luke 12:12

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you, John 14:26

Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you, John 14:19-20
