Man at war with God

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12

As by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin!

This was man’s sin; disobedience, self exaltation, and had always had a desire to be as God. Even today still is the case, and among God’s people, they want reputable positions, and to be in-charge.  That’s the reason why man is at war with God, his ways always are contrary to the will of God, and some unwillingly do so.

“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” Romans 5:14

But we thank God for “… the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18-19

“And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:11

How so?

“But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.” Romans 5:15

Here’s the grace of God, and Jesus demonstrated to us how it is done. Though he was God he made Himself of no reputation, coming in the likeness of men, and took upon Himself the form of a slave, not seeking to be like God.

Romans 8:3- 5 says, “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Christ is the gift of grace; laying us an example; he humbled himself, was condemned and disgraced, and became obedient to the point of death.

“And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.” Romans 5:16

The free gift is of many offences unto justification.

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

Benefits of Salvation

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

  • We’ve access by faith

We received abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness.

  • Justification

“Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.” Romans 5:1

– by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life – you pass from death to life.

  • Righteousness

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19

– by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous

  • Grace

“Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” Romans 5:20

  • Eternal life

“That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:21
