WHERE IS THEN THE BLESSEDNESS YE SPAKE OF?RECENT POST

I am a good shepherd

“I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.” John 10:14-16

Jesus here provides for us a model of good shepherding, he said “I am the good shepherd” and here is the proof;

  • I know my sheep, and am known of mine.
  • I lay down my life for the sheep
  • Other sheep I have, them also I must bring, and there shall be one fold.

Shepherding is an ideal of much wider significance and value, it’s a way of life, culture and history. As believers we are all influenced by it, directly or indirectly, whether we are aware of it or not. Shepherding is not about dominating people’s lives, or taking for granted their ideas and attitudes. Frst, before you we can talk about other business, I would like you to understand shepherding.

“But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:26-29

Let me ask you few simple questions, do you have people you call sheep that you look after? Do you know them? Do they also know you? How do they know you? Listen to what the Lord said, he said I lay down my life for the sheep, do you do the same for yours? He said I will bring them to the fold, “and other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd” The father looks for such to serve him. Actually, if you know your sheep the father acknowledges you also as a good shepherd. Jesus said, “As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father.” Don’t seek recognition of man but only that of God.

Some believers have a habit of wasting their time and energy on other men’s business or sheep. They burry their own talents and run other men’s races, and fight other men’s battles, and sit under other men’s fig trees. Not anymore! We need a church by us and for us and about us. How do you know that this sheep ain’t yours? Because they care less about what you do for them. You do everything for them, yet don’t recognise you nor follow you home.

Luke 7:30-32 says, “But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him. And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like? They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.”

  • “…ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.”

From now on don’t waste your time on those seeking entertainment. Redeem the time; concentrate on those coming to your fold, who hear your voice, and follow your lead.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine saith the Lord. He had true disciples!

We know you’re a good shepherd but only by the fruit/sheep that you bring to the fold.

God bless,

Laurence
