He’s Risen Indeed!
“He is risen!” does remind us of the joyous news of why we celebrate Easter, that when Jesus died, his death was not in vain, he conquered death.
Not only does his resurrection give us salvation but hope for our own resurrection also, which is eternal life. Jesus Christ became the “first fruits” of all who would be raised (Colossians 1:18). Our eternal hope is based on the truth of his resurrection. Indeed, just as with our Lord, our bodies which are now perishable, dishonored, weak, and natural will one day be raised into bodies that are imperishable, glorious, powerful, and spiritual (1 Corinthians 15:42-44). Our spiritual bodies will be perfectly equipped for a supernatural and heavenly life.
“And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee” Luke 24:2-3,6
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:3-5
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” 1 Corinthians 15:55
