An argument is much better than a discussion.

An argument is much better than a discussion.

Good to be opinionated sometimes, especially when you know what you’re talking about; avoid being mild-mannered, tactful or diplomatic, as well as offering both sides of the story. It doesn’t help flip-flopping.

When you are an expert on a topic, it’s fine to emphasize your authority with the first-person voice, especially if your personal story resonates in a universal way. It’s the only moment it’s helpful to be a hothead. Just go a step further, make sure you do it with authority.

Hear what Paul says;

“[1] Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. [2] Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. [3] For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. [4] Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. [5] For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.” Galatians 5:1-5 KJV

“…Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing….” Game over! End of story!

The problem with church is we think the work of God is based on the structure and organization of human interaction, and this why we tend to send people to bible school, to get you circumcised! Why they do it has more specific focus on conversational interaction more than it is about God’s work. It’s so that you may develop your conversational skills and etiquette which are an important part of socialisation. After graduation, you find nothing much has changed except that they have developed some of the conversational skills and a new language of course. I hope that’s not the reason we gather today.

The above is an example only but my point is, are you saved?

  • stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free
  • be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
  • Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing…Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. “…For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”

God bless you!
