The events leading to the removal of president Mugabe was a game-changer in Zimbabwean politics.
And concerning the coming elections, yes, it’ll be good for Zanu-PF that Mnangagwa wins the next election but I don’t think it’s a matter of concern to him who wins. Even if the opposition wins, anyone normal will not ignore Mnangagwa, Chiwenga and the war veterans, and surviving the gallows suffices them. Also, power is not about election, their main concern is taking Zimbabwe forward, and that they’re already doing.
About the issue of cars, it was premature to do so but the point is all people make mistakes. However, you can’t be a leader when you’re afraid to make mistakes. All leaders will have good and bad outcomes regularly throughout their careers, no matter how good their intentions. The point is to learn from those mistakes and, even better, learn from other people’s mistakes before you can make them yourself. When you realise your mistakes, learn from them and do something different about them and move on confidently and comfortably. Don’t imprison your brain in past circumstances…liberate yourself and move on even in your relations.
That’s why even in our religious circles we say forgive and forget. The president is human and is prone to making mistakes. But you also, don’t hold on to the past for long. Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.” Embrace him with love, which covers a multitude of sins.
