“Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.” Ephesians 1:5-6
You were made sons the moment you were born again by receiving/believing in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. He made us accepted in the beloved; it’s predestinated, established and declared.
When He shall come back again, all men shall know (see) it or will come to terms with our new identity – we were declared sons. It will be shown openly to the world that we are sons when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back again.
Thus we have now received the Spirit of sonship or adoption, but still wait for this to be shown openly to the world, Romans 8:15,23. This will take place when the Lord Jesus comes and our bodies are redeemed.
Adoption is the work of the Father, not yours, Ephesians 1.5; it is the work of the Son, Galatians 4.5, and the Holy Spirit, Romans 8:15.
Salvation is entirely of God; He planned it, accomplished it and offers it freely to sinners and will fulfil it.
The act of propitiation, appeasing God is Christ’s, not ours, yours, or your pastor’s. Your role is only to accept the saving work or wisdom of God. Only those who repent and have faith receive the blessings of God’s salvation. Neither faith nor repentance is a good work. No man can glory in himself before God because of his good works.
